Welcome!
Welcome parents & stellar students! My name is Miss Host and I will be working along side your children as well as you throughout this school year! I graduated from Trinity Christian College in 2012 with a bachelors degree in Psychology and a minor in science. I returned to Trinity Christian College in 2016 to study in their dual licensure program for elementary education and special edcuation. I am so excited to spend my first year teaching with you and your children! We have an exciting year ahead of us and I want you to feel free to contact me at any time with any questions, comments or concerns you may have.
This website is here for you when I can't be! From classroom expectations to our class calendar, this website will help you stay up to date on all the latest happenings in our class! It is my mission to provide your child with the best instruction I can by learning how each student learns and catering to any of their specific needs. Our classroom will first and foremost be safe, it will be encouraging - one of my rules is no one can use the phrase "I can't" - and our classroom will of course be FUN! My goal as a teacher is to facilitate group interactions by having students work in centers, to promote learning outside of the classroom by encouraging students to make connections at home to what we learned in class and to promote personal growth in each of my students. I believe that the relationship formed between the teacher and each of their students is one of the most important relationships in a young childs life and I look forward to getting to know each one of your children, their learning styles, helping them to achieve their goals and promote personal growth for each of them to help them become the best person and student they can be! My goal is that at the end of this school year, your child will leave my classroom with confidence knowing that they can conquer anything that their future teachers may toss their way!

This classroom is all about the students! The layout for my classroom is catered to student centered learning. I have created centers and will determine each day what students work in what centers and for how long based on what they are struggling with. No more than four students will work in a center at each time and I will walk around the classroom addressing questions, making sure the students are on task and monitoring their use of time. We will have daily class meetings to discuss what we are doing, expectations and just chat a bit about whats going on.We will not spend all day in centers, a little bit of time here and there throughout the day as a nice change of pace for the students inbetween instruction.
